How to turn show text boundaries option on or off in Word 2010

'Show text boundaries' feature allows a user to view boundaries on the text, or you can say the boundaries up to which the text can be written. It appears like an outline for the area where you can type text in a word document. You can opt for this option to show text boundaries. The option will enable the viewing of text boundaries on the document, in which the text can be typed. It excludes the margins (Left, Right, Gutter, header, footer, etc.) that you have inserted and only the space where text can be type is outlined with a dotted lined box. A user is allowed to either turn on or off show text boundaries option as per his/her needs. Go through some of the steps mentioned below, which will help you learn how you can turn on or off, the show text boundaries option in word document.

Steps to turn on or off - show text boundaries option: -

1. Click on the "Microsoft Office" button and then search for the "Word" tab. You will find it as the last options for "Microsoft Office" button's sub-options. Now follow any one of the step a) or step b), given below to invoke the "Word Options" dialog box.

a) Now proceed further by clicking the "Options" button, below the "Word" tab.

b) Now click on the tab entitled as "Word" and click on it. Search for the tab entitled as "Options" in the right side of the "Word" tab. You will find the "Options" tab, below the section "Microsoft Tools"

2. Now as the "Word Options" dialog box is open, click on the "Advanced" tab in the left pane of the "Word Options" dialog box. Then look for an option "Show text boundaries" and its checkbox, under the "Show document content" section. Click in the checkbox to mark it as checked, this will turn the feature for showing text boundaries ON, in a word document.

OR

Now as the "Word Options" dialog box is open, click on the "Advanced" tab in the left panel of the "Word Options" dialog box. Then look for an option "Show text boundaries" and its checkbox, under the "Show document content" section. Click in the checkbox to mark it as unchecked (i.e. cleared), this will turn the feature for showing text boundaries OFF, in a word document.

3. At last close the dialog box for "Word Options" by clicking the "OK" button located in its bottom part.
